Description

Survey and compilation materials of the Transvaal Manoeuvre Area in central southern Transvaal. One map in 2 sheets depicting Potchefstroom and the area within a 15-mile radius. Sheets portray hydrology, relief by spot heights and approximate contours, railways, telegraph lines, roads and tracks, settlements and isolated buildings, fences, farm boundaries and place names. The date end has been derived from the date of issue in the War Office ledger. Enlarged from an original at 1:126,720 filed at Maps 67378.(2.). War Office ledger correctly cites the scale of this enlargement as 1:62,500, although there is a manuscript statement of 1:63,360 on the map face.
